Sound transportation infrastructure for the region was the reason charter members came together and founded The BWI Business Partnership. That founding mission remains an important part of our work today. The Airport, rail and transit services, the local roadway network, and major regional highway improvements -- all are critical to the success of the area -- for businesses, employees, and residents alike.
We work to promote connections between the Baltimore and Washington regions. Throughout our area, we work to improve highway, transit and rail systems to accommodate business and job growth, including growth projections for Ft. Meade as a result of Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) decisions. As one of the nation's first Transportation Management Association, the Partnership has been designated by Anne Arundel County to promote commuter transportation options, including carpooling and vanpools, rideshares, and employee shuttles in the Airport area. High gas prices have fueled increased demand for transit and commuting options that are cost- and time-efficient. These options reduce traffic congestion, and help save our environment.
