The RideShare program of the Baltimore Metropolitan Council, sponsored by the Maryland Department of Transportation, can provide you with all of the information and resources needed to form a new carpool or join an existing one.

For a list, sorted by county, of all State Highway Administration park and ride facilities, their locations, their capacities and, if applicable, the bus lines which serves that location, click here. Note that all of these sites accommodate carpools and van pools.

Maryland employers, including 501 (c)(3) or (4) organizations, may claim a tax credit for 50% of the eligible costs of providing commuter benefits up to a maximum credit of $50.00 per participating employee per month.  The tax credit can be taken against the personal income tax, the corporate income tax, or the insurance premium tax. Click here to learn more about this program.
